The pitch range is the specification

35 to 630 is the widest published in this family. The BGS tool states 35–525; two others state nothing at all.

Common motorcycle drive chains run 420 to 530, so every tool here covers the ordinary case. The range matters at the ends — a heavy 630 chain at the top, and a fine cam chain at the bottom.

Cam chains, named

Naming them is not padding. A cam chain is smaller, it lives inside the engine, and the job of pressing its pin needs a finer action than a drive chain does. A tool stated for both is a tool whose smallest pin and whose feel were designed for it.

The case colour note

Small, and worth mentioning: a seller telling you in advance that the box may not match the photograph is a seller expecting you to open it rather than photograph it.
