Why AGM gets its own programme

An AGM battery — the sealed type in a great many modern motorcycles — wants a different voltage profile from a flooded lead-acid one. Charging it as though it were flooded shortens its life.

A charger with a named AGM mode is a charger that was designed around that difference rather than one that hopes it does not matter.

The chemistry not named here

Lithium. LiFePO4 batteries now come as standard on some motorcycles and as a popular upgrade on many more, and they want a different charge profile again.

The NOCO charger in this same family names LiFePO4 explicitly. These bullets do not — which is a statement about this listing, and the thing to confirm with the maker before connecting one to a lithium battery.
