Seams, which is where covers actually leak

Anti-Water-Tape sealing all seams.

A cover’s fabric can be perfectly waterproof and the machine still be wet in the morning, because a seam is a row of needle holes driven through it. Water finds them.

This is the only cover in this family to publish seam sealing at all. Everything else on the shelf publishes a fabric figure and stops, which describes the material between the holes.

Condensation, addressed twice

Two ventilation openings, stated to prevent condensation and rust forming under the cover. A felt-like inner material.

That is the other half of the problem, and it is the half that ruins machines. A perfectly waterproof cover over a damp motorcycle is a greenhouse: moisture evaporates off the machine, cannot leave, and condenses back onto it every night for four months.

A cover that keeps rain out and lets vapour go is the one you can leave on all winter.

The 300 °C figure

A cover goes onto a machine that has just been ridden, which means onto a hot exhaust.

A polyester cover that touches one melts — ruining the cover and, where it welds itself on, the finish underneath. Up to 300 °C stated as no problem is a published tolerance for the moment everyone gets wrong once.
