What ±0.3 bar means on a motorcycle

A motorcycle tyre is commonly set around 2.5 bar. A tolerance of 0.3 bar means a reading of 2.5 can be anything from 2.2 to 2.8.

That is 12%, and it spans the range between a tyre that is right and one that is visibly low or noticeably hard. Tyre pressure changes how a motorcycle steers, how the tread wears and how the carcass heats.

The comparison this family makes unavoidable
