Independent grades, and it explains its own trade-offs
Sold Secure, graded — and the grade is in the title.
That is a different kind of claim from a maker’s own security scale, and it is the one insurers publish requirements against. Its disc lock carries the certifier’s top grade with a 16 mm manganese steel shackle; its chain locks carry Gold at 8.3 mm over lengths of 125 and 200 cm.
Two of them, in its own listings.
That its multi-disc cylinder is not the most convenient — less so than the common car-key type — and offers considerably higher resistance to picking in exchange. Publishing the cost of your own design decision is rare.
And that chains of 6 or 7 mm are considerably lighter and offer significantly less. That is an argument against the cheaper end of its own market, made plainly.
