What the seller commits to paper

A 66 × 71 mm cartridge for selected Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph and Yamaha machines. Pleated synthetic-blend media stated to remove most harmful contaminants. Compatibility with all synthetic, conventional and blended oils. A nut for quick removal with a spanner. A robust canister.

The nut is the feature

A spin-on filter that has been through a season of heat cycles can be genuinely stuck. The traditional answers are a filter wrench you have to own or a screwdriver driven through the can, which works and makes a mess.

A nut welded to the end makes it a spanner job. It costs the maker almost nothing and it is why people buy this brand of filter twice.

The row left empty, and it is the one that counts

The thread size. Two filters in this same family publish M20×1.0 and M20×1.5 at outside dimensions two millimetres apart and heights that match to the millimetre.

That is the whole problem with buying an oil filter on dimensions: they can be identical and the filter still will not screw on. Fitment here is by the maker’s model list, which is a safer route than a tape measure.
